Dragonwilds has officially transitioned from Early Access to its full 1.0 release. This launch marks a significant milestone for the game, which is now available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Epic Games Store, Jagex Launcher, and Steam. The developers expressed gratitude to the community for their participation during the Early Access period, which saw players exploring the lands of Ashenfall, facing various creatures, and building their own sanctuaries.
The 1.0 release encourages both new and returning players to dive into the game, highlighting activities such as skill grinding, quest completion, and boss battles. The announcement emphasizes the game's expansion beyond its initial PC-only availability, making it accessible to a broader audience across different platforms.
Early Access Journey Highlights
Dragonwilds began its Early Access journey in April 2025, initially featuring the first Dragon General, Velgar, and two regions: Brynmoor and Ghornfell. It launched with 9 unique skills, allowing players to unlock Skill Spells, and offered 12 armor sets across three combat styles, with weapons up to Iron tier.
Throughout Early Access, the game received several updates. In June 2025, the Magic Skill Tree was expanded, and new building pieces, including Palisade Walls, were introduced. September saw the addition of Ranged skill tree abilities, various arrow types, and Custom and Creative world options with over 50 variables. December brought the 'Fellhollow' update, introducing the Farming skill, a new building kit, additional NPCs, a shop for trading Soul Fragments, Steel tier gear, and Mounts. This update also added the second Dragon boss, Imaru the Revenant Dragon.
Further minor updates in Fellhollow introduced repeatable content like Spectral Platforming and Buried Treasures, alongside new quests. In March, a major update added four more quests, a new boss called the Black Knight Titan, and the Dowdun Reach region. This update also included support for Dedicated Servers, improved controller support, and the Fishing skill, which allowed players to catch fish for decorative trophies and healing items. Quality-of-life improvements were also implemented, such as auto-run, item auto-magnetization, and the option to hide helmets. Health and healing mechanics were reworked, and Sanguine Urns were added to permanently increase Max HP.
The 'Umbral Sands' update introduced flying carpet mounts, a new region inspired by RuneScape's Kharidian Deserts, and new bosses like the Kalphite Queen and Fuzan the Fire Dragon. This update also added the Nightmare Crucible for upgrading weapons, and new crafting materials for Adamant Armour, Red Dragonhide, Infinity Robes, and other gear. Mining and Woodcutting Skill Trees were expanded, and more NPC traders were added.
